Living Room Transformation for a Long-Standing Client
This recently completed project was for a valued client who has worked with House of Garrod for many years. The brief was to refresh their living room while retaining much-loved furniture, creating a coordinated and luxurious scheme throughout the space.
We designed, made, and installed four hand-stitched, interlined, blackout-lined curtains, finished with a triple pleat and hung on the client’s existing curtain poles. The curtains were made using Ian Mankin – Design Newbury in Suede, adding warmth, texture, and a tailored finish to the room.
Alongside the window furnishings, we reupholstered the client’s existing furniture to create a balanced look. This included:
- A three-seater sofa upholstered in Saxon – Navy
- A two-seater sofa upholstered in Linwood – Helter Skelter (Ink)
- An armchair upholstered in Today’s Interiors – Santiago (Canyon)
To bring the scheme together, we also reupholstered a footstool using all three fabrics and created four bespoke cushions from the remaining materials — ensuring nothing was wasted and the design felt complete.
Client Feedback
“Just a note to say a huge thank you for your very friendly, tasteful and skilled service helping us to transform our living room. Having listened to what we were trying to achieve, you helped us enormously to narrow down our fabric choices and then used that to completely update our furniture. Our new curtains complete the room and are luxurious.” — JC
